Curious about where your trash goes after the Harvey's truck pulls away from the curb? Are you unsure about whether that take-out food container is recyclable? Post your questions here for our resident experts.

For a detailed list of what can and can not be recycled at the curb and at the Wood Street Drop off center, visit the recycling committee's page on the town web site:

After reading the list, one item that I was surprised by is that Harvey's does not collect aluminum foil for recycling. This is a valuable resource, so I am curious about why it is not recycled. Is it just hard to sort? Or too often ruined by food remnants?

Not sure why we can't recycle foil here.  Probably because of food remnants as you suggested.  Here's a scary factoid I just came across though: Americans are said to throw away enough aluminum in three months to rebuild our entire commercial air fleet.
